Project Overview

Big Heart Hospitality is the Boston-based restaurant group helmed by award-winning chef Tiffani Faison. Known for concept-driven dining experiences that are as bold as they are welcoming, the group’s portfolio includes a dynamic lineup: Sweet Cheeks Q, Fool’s Errand, Dive Bar, Tenderoni’s, Charming Gardener by Tiffani Faison, and Bubble Bath. The brand’s name isn’t just a label—it’s a mantra: lead with generosity, cook with intention, and create spaces where everyone feels seen.

We were brought in to help define the group’s overarching visual identity—a system that could speak for the collective without overshadowing its individual brands.

Design Approach

We rooted the identity in the spirit of service and the emotional resonance of the name “Big Heart.” Red, in all its richness and variation, became the foundation of the palette—paired with black and white to ground it with modern edge and urban clarity.

The typographic language drew inspiration from historical protest and suffrage posters—unapologetic in scale, with confident hierarchy and bold energy. A mix of serif and sans-serif pairings allowed for versatility across collateral types, from business cards to bold event signage.

The system was extended across gift cards, digital campaigns, in-store materials, career fair collateral, and promotional partnerships. Throughout, the tone remained assertive yet warm—reflecting the passion, voice, and vision of the Big Heart team.

Outcome

The final identity gives Big Heart Hospitality a distinctive, scalable visual presence that unifies its eclectic portfolio while allowing space for each concept to shine. It communicates not just who they are, but how they show up: with flavor, fearlessness, and a whole lot of heart.
